Ramos: "Sometimes Cristiano and me have disagreements"
The Real Madrid captain spoke to Spanish television ahead of the Club World Cup: "I'm in favour of technology but we don't want to lose the essence of football."
Sergio Ramos spoke to Spanish state broadcaster TVE and analysed Real Madrid’s current situation, his relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo and the upcoming Club World Cup.
Madrid in LaLiga: “A draw here is always a crisis. We have to remain calm, have confidence and go from one objective to another. Maybe it’s not the best start [to a season] in history but we’re still in touch and we’ll keep on fighting for the titles in play.”
"Cristiano and me are pulling in the same direction"
Cristiano’s goal drought: “When Cris doesn’t score people always cause a commotion.”
Differences of opinion with Cristiano over Real’s squad: “There’s never been anything in it. I think that there’s always been a great friendship between Cristiano and me. We are both players with a lot of character, with different opinions, but we’re pulling in the same direction. Sometimes we may have a bit of a disagreement about a decision…”
VAR at the Club World Cup: “I’m in favour of technology. But that said, we don’t want to lose the essence of football. Maybe here we take too long to make decisions through insecurity…”
Clásico on December 23: “Hopefully we’ll come back with another title because it’s good for the morale of the squad. It would serve us well going into the Clásico, there are three very important points to play for.”
