Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo breaks Champions League record
Valencia - Juventus live: Champions League 2018/19
Cristiano Ronaldo has broken a Champions League record by scoring Real Madrid's second goal against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday evening.
Ronaldo becomes first to score in all six group-stage games
With a gorgeous curled effort after 12 minutes, Ronaldo became the first player to be on target in every game in a single Champions League group stage. Alessandro Del Piero and Serhiy Rebrov came close to achieving the feat in 1995/96 and 1997/98, respectively, scoring in the first five fixtures but drawing a blank on matchday six.
CR7 also chasing Messi's overall group-phase scoring mark
Meanwhile, two goals for Ronaldo would also see him overtake Lionel Messi as the top scorer overall in the history of the Champions League group stage, with the 32-year-old one behind the Barcelona star's career tally of 60 going in to the match.
With nine goals, Ronaldo is the leading marksman in the continent's elite club competition this season.
