Victor Wanyama returns to Tottenham training

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Victor Wanyama, joined a first-team training session on Monday for the first time since suffering a knee injury in August.

The Kenya’s national football team captain has not been featured with the Spurs since the opening two games of the season.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is expected to give an update on Wanyama at a press conference tomorrow. It’s unlikely that the 26-year-old will be straight back in action.

Since Wanyama’s injury, English star Eric Dier has occupied his position.

Processions in Kenya to support Wanyama

A Tottenham supporters’ club in Kenya took the streets of Machakos, a small town near Nairobi, to give support to Wanyama.

The procession, led by a car draped in “Wanyama get well soon” banners, was comprised by a huge number of fans wearing shirts that read “Team#BigVic#”.

The midfielder shared pictures of the march on his Instagram account, promising that he will come back better and stronger very soon.

Before joining the Spurs in 2016, Wanyama played for teams like Glasgow Celtic and Southampton.

He is widely remembered by Celtic fans for scoring the first goal in a 2-1 victory over Barcelona in the 2012 UEFA Champions League.

Since making his debut for the Kenyan National Team at the age of 15, he has been featured in over 40 caps.
