"To question Cristiano is to question Madrid and also football"
Florentino Pérez claimed that he didn't know if Barça would give a guard of honour ahead of next Saturday's El Clasico at the Bernabeu.
Real Madrid club president Florentino Pérez spoke to the media after the final whistle in Abu Dhabi where a Cristiano Ronaldo free-kick was enough to secure the 2017 World Club Cup trophy overcoming Brazilian outfit Gremio.
Pride: "We're worthy winners of the competition and this is possibly the best year in my time at the club. We've stepped up to the plate in every final we've participated in".
Cristiano: “He'll always score. Those who question Cristiano are questioning Real Madrid and the game of football. He played really well and once again displayed that hunger and desire that personifies his style of play”.
Guard of honour pre-Clásico: “I don't know. we have a huge game coming up next weekend and this win will certainly stand us well ahead of the match”.
Squad reinforcement: “Everything can be improved but when things are working well, sometimes it's best not to interfere. We have great players and a raft of young talent coming through. It's now time to enjoy what we have”.
