James Rodríguez reflected on how the first few months of the campaign have been for Bayern Munich in an interview with SPORT1. The Colombian midfielder says he's satisfied with how his first half the campaign went - in 19 appearances he has scored two goals and set up four. The ex-Real Madrid player says that he feels "reborn as a footballer" and believes that Bayern, runaway leaders in the Bundesliga, are at the same level as his former club. "Both Bayern and Madrid are top level clubs who aspire to win trophies and who are used to fighting for them. For me, Bayern is one of the top sides around".

Heynckes moves James into different position

One of the factors which changed James' fortunes with Bayern was the arrival of Jupp Heynckes who replaced Carlo Ancelotti in October. The coach expalined: "James is now playing in a different position to the one he was playing in with Real Madrid. With me, I use him as an attacking midfielder in a 4-3-3 formation and he is really comfortable in that role; he is also dropping back to help the defence - in the future he will be an even more important player for us".
