CRYSTAL PALACE-MANCHESTER CITY
Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus off in tears with knee injury
The Brazil international limped off after 20 minutes at Selhurst Park with what appeared to be a serious problem in his left knee.
Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus could be out of action for some time after the Brazil striker left the pitch in tears with a knee injury during his side’s New Year’s Eve game against Crystal Palace.
The Premier League club are yet to issue a statement about the extent Jesus’ injury but the striker’s reaction suggests it could be a serious problem.
The injury occurred when Jesus was attempting to shield the ball from an opposition player. The Brazilian over-extended during the challenge and suffered an injury to the exterior of his left knee.
De Bruyne off injured
To compound City’s woes as they were held to a goalless draw at home, bringing an end to their 18-game winning streak in the Premier League, influential midfielder Kevin de Bruyne also left the pitch on a stretcher in stoppage time after a heavy challenge from Palace midfielder Jason Puncheon.
