Philippe Coutinho has been ruled out for three weeks with a thigh injury after undergoing a medical with his new club, Barcelona have announced on the day they present their latest signing. The former Liverpool attacker arrives at the Camp Nou after completing a €160 million deal that makes him the second most expensive footballer in history.

The Brazilian was ruled out of Liverpool's most recent games against Burnley and Everton before the deal went through with a thigh problem and the medical with Barcelona has confirmed the injury.

The 25-year-old, who can not play in the Champions League having featured and starred for Liverpool during the first half of the season in the same competition, will have to wait for his debut after signing for four years with Ernesto Valverde's side.
