Marc Bartra to Real Betis move to be confirmed today
Catalan sports daily Mundo Deportivo claim that the move from Borussia Dortmund lo Real Betis is in the final stretch and will be confirmed today.
Real Betis are still smarting from missing out on key winter transfer target Miguel Layún to city rivals Sevilla FC, and with time running out in the January window are still one or two players short of the request from the club's sporting director.
A defensive reinforcement has been signalled as a key priority with the Andalusian club sounding out various players including Celta Vigo's Fontàs, Japanese player Nagatomo or Italian Santon. The one player who according, to Catalan daily Mundo Deportivo is close to joining Real Betis Balompie is Marc Bartra with the move just lacking small administrative details before being confirmed. The transfer fee has been cited as 20 million euro for the player's services from German side Borussia Dortmund.
Bartra was an advocate for the move being aware that with the Russia 2018 World Cup looming, guaranteed first team football was essential for him to impress Spain national team coach Julen Lopetegui.
