Alavés will wait for Marcos Llorente until the very last minute
The Real Madrid midfielder is not relied on by Zinedine Zidane but he does not want any exits despite the fact that Llorente needs minutes and won't get them at the Bernabeu.
Alavés will wait for Marcos Llorente until the very last minute. Zinedine Zidane does not want any exits and, in theory, Llorente is a player the Real Madrid manager needs. The defensive midfielder is a little out of sorts, however, and barely plays under the French manager. The last two hopes for Alavés were Miguel Layún and Llorente and with the former already gone to Sevilla, the Real Madrid player, who they had in Vitoria on loan last season, is the last hope.
Sergio Fernández, the club's sporting director, did everything he could to sign Layún and even took a trip to Portugal but the Mexican resisted and is now in Andalusia and included in Sevilla's squad. Fernández presented the club's interest in the summer and has returned again this winter.
Alavés have signed two players in the winter transfer market: Hernan Perez and John Guidetti in their battle to stay in the top flight. Oscar Romero and Enzo Zidane have left the club and Santos, Katai and Bojan are on exit grid.
Llorente has been linked with Deportivo la Coruña and Newcastle United with a big decision for him and Real Madrid for the last six months of the season.
