Guardiola charged for wearing politically-loaded yellow ribbon
The BBC report that the English FA have charged the Manchester City manager for breaching kit and advertising regulations.
According to reports made by the BBC this evening, the English Football Association (FA) have decided to bring charges against Pep Guardiola for wearing a yellow ribbon which breaches the organizations rules on kit and advertising etiquette.
Political message
Guardiola faces charges for "displaying a political message, to be precise, a yellow ribbon". In Spain, the yellow ribbon is a symbol which is worn in support of Los Jordis - Jordi Sànchez i Picanyol and Jordi Cuixart, who were imprisoned for sedition in October.
The BBC reports explains that Guardiola has until 6pm on Monday 5 March to respond to the charges which comes after he received a formal warning from the FA about the display of politically-loaded symbols in December. The manager spoke about the possibility of being fined for wearing the yellow ribbon while on duty: "If UEFA, FIFA or the Premier League want toc ahrge me for wearing the yellow ribbon, fine. Let them go ahead. But they, especially los Jordis, are in prison. I am only asking that people should be allowed to vote, let's not forget that. I wear it especially for those two who defended teh right to vote. To be in prison, you need to have done something very serious and they have been in prison for 60 days aleady".
