29 seconds at Butarque led to two days of discussion. That was the amount of time Zinedine Zidane gave Dani Ceballos as a substitute in the victory over Leganés.
Ceballos has more chance to stretch his legs
Zidane subsequently apologised to his midfielder, and gave Ceballos a more generous cameo in the comfortable win over Alavés at the Bernabéu on Saturday afternoon. Ceballos replaced Mateo Kovacic after 72 minutes. It was Real Madrid's first substitution, and they were winning 3-0 at the time.
The 21-year-old is still a long way from being a first-team regular - with Borja Mayoral the only player in the Madrid squad to have featured less than Ceballos in LaLiga - but he at least had a genuine chance to make an impact against Alavés.
