Ernesto Valverde gave his post-match reaction from Gran Canaria as his Barcelona side were held to a 1-1 draw against Las Palmas.

Penalty decision 'inexplicable'

The result: "The draw isn't good for us. In the first half we could have established more of an advantage. Then they got themselves a penalty, drew level, and defended really well in the final stages."

The penalty: "We don't know what the referee blew for during that play. Nobody knows in the dressing room. In that phase of play we don't understand what he blew for, it was inexplicable. We hope that his decision will become a little clearer when we see a replay. It was an invisible penalty"

Chichizola handball: "For me, it was really clear. I would image that Jémez saw it differently."

Atlético match key

Atlético Madrid: "The match against Atlético comes up fast and it'll be important for both teams. We go in to it with a bad taste in our mouths, because we could have got a win. We're the leaders and we're keen to stay in first place."

Las Palmas: "I've played many times against Paco Jeméz teams. They pressured us high up the pitch and we knew that they weren't going to lose face."
