Asensio has passed all his tests: Barcelona, Bayern, PSG...

The 22-year-old stole the show in the first leg against PSG and continues to excel and make his €3.9 million transfer fee look like a steal in the current markets.

If the human is a creature of habits, there is not doubt that Marco Asensio's biggest habit is shining brightly at the most important times and he is carving out a name for himself as a big-game player. What was Florentino Perez doing signing a youngster for less than €4 million? From those early questions to his latest performance at Parc des Princes, every game he has played has been followed by eulogies.

Asensio loves scoring on his debut in competitions

His debut was a premonition: in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, he was named as the starter in the European Super Cup last season and opened the scoring after just 21 minutes. That mixture of beauty, transcendence and opportunism has accompanied him in every big game since. He also scored in his debut in LaLiga at the Anoeta, the Champions League against Legia Warsaw at the Bernabeu, in the Copa del Rey against Cultural Leonesa and in the Spanish Super Cup in the Camp Nou against Barcelona. He is not just a player who plays well on debuts though as we have seen with his assist against Bayern Munich last season in the 1st leg and his goal in the second leg along with his late goal against Juventus that made sure the Champions League was coming back to Madrid.

That season was similar to this one where he started big and left his mark in important games. he scored braces against Valencia and Real Betis, the goal at the Butarque to put Real Madrid ahead in the Copa too. He also found Vazquez for the assist for Ronaldo's goal against PSG on Tuesday night. The boy who cost €3.9 million continues to make his mark.
