Inter, Milan, Roma: Serie A clubs eyeing Real Madrid's Kovacic
Inter representatives were in Paris to watch Mateo Kovacic against PSG on Tuesday, with AC Milan and Roma also tracking the Croat.
Mateo Kovacic has an excellent reputation in Italy and, although he is not currently enjoying the best of periods at Real Madrid, suitors from the country continue to knock on the door.
Inter, AC Milan and Roma all interested in Kovacic
Inter, where Kovacic spent two and a half seasons before joining Real in 2015, sent scouts to the Parc des Princes to watch the midfielder in the holders' Champions League victory at Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, while Roma and the Nerazzurri's city rivals, AC Milan, are also keeping close tabs on the 23-year-old.
And the Italian media did not miss the opportunity to probe Kovacic about the possibility of a Serie A return this midweek, with the Croatia international telling Premium Sport: "I don't know, it's difficult to talk about going back to Milan right now. I loved Italy and Milan. You never know.
"It's tough being on the bench, but I'm ready for every game," he said when asked about his role in Zinedine Zidane's squad. "Today I played, and we won."
Kovacic lauds "incredible" Cristiano Ronaldo
Discussing Real Madrid's 2-1 last-16 triumph at PSG, which saw Los Blancos seal a 5-2 aggregate win, Kovacic added: "We put in a great performance. We're a different team in the Champions League. We put a real shift in and we're happy.
"Cristiano Ronaldo? He's incredible. If you give him a chance, he puts it away."
