Lille fans invade pitch to attack players
Lille are fighting relegation and after drawing with Montpellier the fans invaded the pitch. The players had to be escorted to safety.

A major number of angry Lille supporters invaded the pitch at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium at the end of the game against Montpellier, which finished 1-1, in a bid to confront their players.
Lille are currently second last in the Ligue 1 table, with the draw against Montpellier being their sixth game without a win. At the final whistle enraged supporters from the north stand invaded the pitch and ran towards the players, throwing objects at them, hurling insults and threatening them with violence. Some of the players were also directly physically attacked before security officers could intervene and escort the players to safety.
