"Neymar has a future at PSG; Neymar's present is already here at PSG". With that declaration Neymar's father tried to pour cold water on the rumours of a possible departure for the star striker from the French club this coming summer.

Neymar Sr. made his comments to Brazilian media with PSG chairman and chief executive officer Nasser Al-Khelaifi by his side. Al-Khelaifi travelled to Brazil on Monday to visit Neymar, who is recovering from an operation to the fifth metatarsal of his right foot, and attempted to convince him not to move to Real Madrid this summer.

PSG scared Neymar will want to leave

The Qatari boss, who said before PSG were knocked out of the Champions League at the hands of Real Madrid, that Neymar would be "2,000%" staying, is terrified the Brazilian will decide to leave after the European failure, although in public he's putting on a brave face and attempting to demonstrate he's in complete control of the situation.

"Neymar is happy, highly motivated and excited to be getting back as soon as possible. He's doing everything possible to return as quickly as possible, we hope he'll be back to play in the League and the Cup", said Al Khelaifi.

And the aim of Neymar is to be in perfect condition for the World Cup, meaning a quick return is unlikely.

Neymar, meanwhile, has turned into Florentino Pérez's main target for next season. Real Madrid have made contact with the player's camp to see what the possibilities of signing the player are, and have already received an answer: 400 million euros. The Spanish club are said to examining all the options, including a tie up with Nike to help make the move a reality.

PSG desperate to kill off the rumours

PSG are all too aware of Real Madrid's siren call and are working overtime to try and calm the situation down. According to French media, the trip by Al Khelaifi to Brazil had been planned for several months, in order to discuss ties between PSG and the foundation of Neymar's family, but the executive took advantage of the occasion to talk to the player and find out his thoughts and concerns about the project at PSG, which was so sorely damaged by Real Madrid. According to Neymar's father, Neymar could still be the cornerstone of that project...
