Tendai Ndoro ordered to stop playing for Ajax Cape Town
Zimbabwean striker Ndoro is at his third club this season, which is prohibited by Fifa rules.
The South African Football Association (Safa) has ordered Tendai Ndoro to stop playing for his current club, Ajax Cape Town, with immediate effect.
The 32-year-old Zimbabwean star is at his third club this season, having started out at Orlando Pirates, before joining Saudi Arabian side Al Faisaly, and most recently Ajax CT.
Fifa rules prohibit players from turning out for three different clubs in one season.
Matter referred to Fifa
Safa arbitrator Nassir Cassim SC has referred Ndoro’s matter to the international governing body of association football, Fifa, arguing that the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) Dispute Resolution Chambers do not have jurisdiction over the matter.
"In his ruling on Wednesday, 28 March 2018, Cassim SC referred the case to Fifa saying it was because the matter involved an overseas/international club," a Safa press statement read.
"Orlando Pirates and Polokwane City had lodged a protest with the PSL arguing that Ajax Cape Town had contravened FIFA rules by fielding the player. The player played for Pirates before signing for a Saudi Arabia side Al Faisaly before returning to the PSL to join Ajax.
"He also ruled that in the meantime, the player should stop playing for Ajax".
Ndoro has already featured in eight games for Ajax CT this season.
The Cape Town side is currently battling to avoid relegation, lying in penultimate spot in the table with 24 points from 24 games.
