The Ajax winger, son of former Barça striker Patrick and winner of the NxGn Award for the best teenage player in the world, intends to "win the Ballon d'Or in the next 10 years."

Justin Kluivert gave in interview with Goal.com after being named the NxGn best teenage player in the world by the website, beating Gianluigi Donnarumma, the 2017 winner, Vinícius Júnior, Ajax teammate Matthijs De Ligt and Phil Foden to the award.

At just 18 years old, Kluivert has had a breakthrough season in the Eredivisie, making 30 appearances and scoring eight times from a position on the left flank of Ajax’s attack. He also made his Netherlands debut during the international break and spoke about his future plans and objectives.

Kluivert: "The team I dream of playing for is Barcelona"

“The team I dream of playing for is Barcelona. I wouldn’t mind going somewhere else, but Barcelona is the dream. My definitive challenge is to win the Ballon d’Or. That’s what I’m going for and I’m going to work hard to get there, although I’m still only 18 and I have a lot of areas to improve on.”

Kluivert’s ascension has not gone unnoticed elsewhere, with some reports suggesting that José Mourinho is an admirer, although the player denied there had been any contact: “The rumours are always there but Manchester United have not been in touch and I don’t think it would be a logical move anyway.”
