Real Madrid's Fede Valverde: “I'd like to stay at Deportivo"

The 19-year-old Uruguay midfielder, on loan at the Riazor from the Bernabéu, has said that even if Depor go down he'd like to stay.

Update:
Fede Valverde estaría dispuesto a volver al Depor

Fede Valverde hasn’t had quite the season he would have wanted in his Primera debut campaign at Deportivo. Through a combination of injuries and the necessities of a side battling against relegation, the 19-year-old Uruguay international has not managed to string together a decent run of games at Riazor in the second half of the season although he has broken the 1,000-minute mark for the side in 2017-18.

However, after shining during a promising pre-season and settling nicely into the club during his loan move from Real Madrid, Valverde has said he would like to return next season even if Clarence Seedorf’s side are relegated to Segunda and would not countenance playing for another club in Spain.

Valverde: "I'd like to stay at Depor, in whatever division"

If Madrid decide to loan me again, out of respect for A Coruña, I won’t accept any offers in Spain. If unfortunately we do go down I won’t play for another club in Spain out of respect. If I can stay at Depor, in whatever division, I’d like to stay because I am a part of this,” Valverde told Gol. “If the worst happens I will have played a role in us going down to Segunda and I’d like to come back and help Depor to get back into Primera again.”
