Atlético Madrid in contact with Vicente Guaita
The Getafe shot-stopper has offers from the Premier League but he could be convinced to stay in Madrid with Atlético Madrid harbouring interest.
Atlético Madrid have made contact with Getafe's Vicente Guaita in order to improve their goalkeeping options ahead of next season. After the exit of Miguel Angel Moya to Real Sociedad and with Exel Werner the second goalkeeper, the rojiblancos want to improve their choices behind Jan Oblak.
They want to continue with the formula that has worked so well for them in the past. By having a young goalkeeper waiting in the wings along with an older experience keeper, they have the chance to blood the youngster in with the best environment possible without losing out when Oblak is rested. This is where Guaita enters the fold.
Atlético are not the only ones interested in Guaita. Crystal Palace were close to signing the player and the agreement from the winter is still done with the Premier League side's goal to sign the player in the summer. The offer from Atlético is lucrative in more ways than just the economics. He would not have to move out of the city and would also be in the Champions League and get the chance to fight for trophies. Guaita could be signing his last big contract and after arriving for free from Valencia would also leave on a free as his contract with Getafe expires in the summer.
