Sergi Roberto banned for four games after Clásico red
Following the Barcelona defender's lash out at Real Madrid's Marcelo on Sunday, he has been handed a four-game ban meaning he will miss the start of the 2018-19 campaign.
On Wednesday, the RFEF Competition Committee imposed a ban of four games for Barcelona's Sergi Roberto for the swipe at Real Madrid defender Marcelo in the Clásico. That act saw him sent off before the end of the first half.

The decision referenced Article 98.1 to explain the penalty to Sergi Roberto: 'aggression to another player without causing injury'. However, the feeling in Barcelona is one of surprise with those around the club seeing it as excessive punishment.
The full-back will not be available to play in the final three Liga matches this season and will also miss the Spanish Super Cup. As it is deemed a serious sanction, all competitions under the federation are included.
Barça will appeal the punishment.
