Valverde: "There's nobody like Iniesta. Well, Messi, but that's it"
Ernesto Valverde was full of praise for Ousmane Dembélé after the winger scored a brace in Barcelona's comfortable victory against Villarreal in LaLiga.
Ernesto Valverde offered his views on Barcelona’s comfortable 5-1 victory against Villarreal at Camp Nou.
Valverde has high expectations of Dembélé
The match: “It’s really positive that we’re not losing games and that we’re keeping our level high. We want to keep that fighting spirit. We had a great first half with a lot of chances to score. We let our guard down later and they got us on the counter-attack. We rate Villarreal highly, they'll play in Europe, and it's even better after all the noise from the Clásico.”
Ousmane Dembélé: “He had a great game. He got involved around the goal and provided assists. He’s got frightening pace, as we saw with the fifth goal. We expect a lot from him and we hope that he’ll deliver. He’s a great talent.”
Ivan Rakitic: “He’s in great form at the moment, as we saw last Sunday when we were down to ten men.”
Barcelona to appeal Roberto suspension
Andrés Iniesta: “He’s a player unlike any other. Well, there’s him, Messi, and that’s it. We’ll miss him. We’ve got two matches left and we want to enjoy them.”
Jasper Cillessen: “I’m planning to finish the season with Ter Stegen in goal. I wanted to reward Cillessen with a Liga match because he’s such a good goalkeeper.”
Sergi Roberto’s four-game suspension: “We hoped it would just be one match. I don’t know how the incident was written up. He [Marcelo] writhed around, that’s for sure. We’ll appeal the ban.”
