Jasper Cillessen: Barcelona receive offers for back-up 'keeper
The Dutch goalkeeper has found matches hard to come by given Marc-Andre Ter Stegen's form, and has no shortage of offers to leave Camp Nou.
It’s not a bad problem for Barcelona to have. Back-up goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen has excelled every time he has stepped in for incumbent Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and, as a result, Barcelona have received various offers for the Dutch international.
Cillessen draws interest from Bayern
Barça do not intend to sell the 29-year-old, but are aware that it will be difficult to keep him at Camp Nou if all they can offer is a place on the bench. Cillessen is under contract until 2021 and has a release clause of €60 million.
Various Premier League teams are keen to acquire his services, while Bayern are considering him as a replacement for Manuel Neuer. Several LaLiga sides have also enquired about a loan.
Ter Stegen an immovable object in goal
Cillessen is happy in Barcelona, but he has already stated that he wants to be playing more than just in the Copa del Rey and when Ter Stegen is unavailable in LaLiga and the Champions League.
A similar situation occurred a couple of years ago at Camp Nou. Claudio Bravo played in the Liga while Ter Stegen appeared for Copa del Rey and Champions League matches. The arrangement worked for two seasons but ultimately resulted in Bravo leaving for Manchester City.
