Real Madrid full-back Marcelo would love to play with Neymar at club level with the European giants. Neymar has been strongly linked with a move to Madrid in the summer, although Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi insisted on Saturday that the Brazil international was going nowhere. Marcelo however would welcome his international team-mate to the Santiago Bernabéu, but said he was not trying to talk Neymar into a move.
Only the best players come to Real Madrid
"The best players come to Madrid and I would love to play with Neymar," he said after playing his 450th game for the club in Saturday's 6-0 thrashing of Celta de Vigo. "When I talk to Neymar, I don't talk about Real Madrid or about him leaving PSG."
Marcelo and Neymar will be representing Brazil at this summer's World Cup, with the Seleção in Group E alongside Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia. However, Marcelo – who celebrated his 30th birthday yesterday – insisted their focus would be on the showpiece event, not transfer talk. "We will be in Russia to play something very important. We will not be talking about signings. We will be representing our country."
