Atlético arrive in team hotel ahead of Europa League final
There were no Atlético Madrid fans waiting at the hotel as it did not create a stir but they were escorted by members of the French police ahead of the Europa League final.
Atlético Madrid have arrived at the hotel they will stay in during their trip to Lyon to play the Europa League final against Marseille on Wednesday night. The rojiblancos were escorted by members of the French police, three motorcycles and a police car. There were no Atlético fans at the hotel and it did not cause a stir at their time of arrival.
One kid with a red and white jersey stood and waited for Cholo and his side, however, along with a dozen French fans as they welcome Antoine Griezmann - he grew up in nearby Mâcon and will have lots of family and friends at the final.
The Lyon Metropole is the name of the hotel they are staying in and is located three and a half kilometres from the center of Lyon, next to the Saona River. Tranqulity is a basic requirement for Simeone when picking a team hotel and the four-star spot where they are staying in France is ideal. The team arrived just in time for lunch and will rest before training as they prepare for the biggest game of their season.
