Thousands of Atlético fans sign giant Fernando Torres shirt
On the day the Spanish star will make his final appearance for the Rojiblancos, supporters were en masse to pay homage to their hero, 'El Niño'.
May 20th 2018 will be remembered forever as the day Fernando Torres played his last game for Atlético Madrid. And just four days after lifting his first trophy for his boyhood club, fans have the chance to pay the player affectionately known as 'El Niño' a fitting tribute at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Ahead of Atleti's final game of the season, against Eibar, Torres is taking much of the narrative. Outside the stadium, on the north side, there are various momemtos including a giant replica shirt of the Spanish striker signed by fans who have been able to leave a message to him on it.
On the east side of the Wanda they prepared a photographic exhibition with 50 iconic images of the man who also starred for Premier League sides Liverpool and Chelsea during his career.
A further honour was delivered just before kick-off as fans displayed a mosaic to their star. It read: “De Niño a leyenda, Fernando Torres, siempre uno de nosotros” - "From child to legend, Fernando Torres, always one of us."
