REAL MADRID 3 - LIVERPOOL 1
Real Madrid player ratings: Bale, Benzema and Ramos shine
With his two goals, Gareth Bale was the stand-out player but Ramos was a rock at the back and Benzema proved decisive in a final for the first time.
KEYLOR
Finished a difficult year with a great game in Kiev. Had an excellent save from Alexander-Arnold in the 23rd minute, the first real warning shot from Liverpool. Solid after that too.
CARVAJAL
A start with lots of inaccuracies that ended in a cruel way. He broke down in the 34 minute and left the field crying just like in Milan when he lost the Euros in 2016.
RAMOS
Captain. Leader and held the armband high. Stopped Firmino. The heart of Madrid keeps beating strong. 19 titles with Real Madrid.
VARANE
Needed his speed to snuff out some Real Madrid attacks. The defender was cery calm. Makes very good decisions and is perfect for a game of such magnitude.
MARCELO
Looked under pressure with Salah. Came into the game and gave the pass for Bale for his goal. Another massive game and another title for the Brazilian. Much like Ramos - a Real Madrid legend.
CASEMIRO
Ended the game in a strong position and held his own against Henderson and Milner. Poor with the ball but a rock in the spine of Real Madrid's midfield. His presence again unquestionable.
KROOS
Excellent from the German. Showed off his class in Kiev. Made the most passes and was a constant in midfield as he offered himself for every pass.
MODRIC
Useful as always and sacrificed himself for the team. A player that Zidane would like to clone. Or any team for that matter.
ISCO
Zidane bet on the malagueño even if it wasn't his best night. Hit the crossbar in the 47th minute.
BENZEMA
Decisive in a final, at last. His future at Real Madrid was in doubt but he proves just how influential he can be and was always looking for action on the night.
CRISTIANO
He carried Real Madrid on his back to the final but did not shine on the night. He will be upset to not have scored but is a Champions League winner again.
NACHO
Came on for Carvajal and offered security at the back. Didn't suffer too much with Lallana or Mane.
BALE
Didn't start but Zidane had a plan, it seems. The change was scheduled and came on for half an hour. His chilena might be the best goal ever scored in a Champions League final. His second was lucky but what an impact he made.
