Official competition comes first

Tebas insists that LaLiga will not be flexible when it comes to rearranging fixtures: "LaLiga isn't a disposable tissue that can be tossed away at will when it suits. We are not going to change our competition, the best league in the world. The solution to this does not involve finding new dates for two games. We will not budge on the issue", Tebas said this afternoon, before pointing out that Barça's game "is only a friendly - official competition always comes first. LaLiga is sacred".

Best players in the best league

The president, who is in Vila-real for the LaLiga Promises tournament also reaffirmed what he told La Sexta yesterday, in which he said he would prefer Cristiano to stay in LaLiga rather than see Neymar return. "I dived in head first because Cristiano is a standard bearer for our competition, the best league competition in the world. Neymar is one of the best players in the world but he still isn't the best. Crisitiano and Messi are, and I'd prefer to have them here with us, playing in our league", he said.
