The Colombian will play at Bayern Munich next season as any return to Real Madrid is up to the Bundesliga side and them alone.

James Rodriguez' return to Real Madrid is practically impossible this summer as it does not depend on the Spanish side or the player. As explained by the Bundesliga side when they presented the Colombian as a Bayern player, he joined for two years with the Germans paying €13 million for the deal.

As reported by AS Colombia, there is no way James leave Bayern Munich this summer with just a couple of weeks until the start of the season and he will be one of the main men in Nike Kovac's plans. He has settled in well at the Allianz Arena and is loved by the fans with his jersey outselling any other last season.

Unless Bayern Munich decide to discard the player, which seems highly unlikely after an excellent debut season in which he scored eight goals and added 14 assists, the loan deal will be completed as agreed. And when the two-year spell is over, it will still be Bayern who hold sway over where the 27-year-old's future lies.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said during James' presentation that the decision on whether to sign the player after the two-year deal was unilateral. If Bayern want to hold on and pay €42 million, it is their decision only regardless of the wishes of the player or Real Madrid.

That said, it is always difficult to keep a player against their desire but James seems happy with the reigning Bundesliga champions. Last May, he said, "I am good, I hope to stay here, I feel good here." Bayern also tend to be tough negotiators when it comes to departures. That makes an potential return to Madrid very complicated.
