Agreement between Spurs and Raptors for Kawhi Leonard
Kawhi Leonard reportedly has no interest in playing with the Raptos and wants to sign with the Lakers next season as DeMar DeRozan heads to San Antonio.
Kawhi Leonard will be playing his basketball in Toronto next season in theory. Adrian Wojnarowski reported early on Wednesday that the Raptors and the Spurs were in contact over a trade. They had been in contact for a number of weeks with various trade packages thrown around.
DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl and a protected 2019 first-round pick are all part of the deal and are headed for San Antonio for Danny Green and Leonard, who played just nine games last year.
According to ESPN's Chris Haynes, DeRozan was told during summer league that ge would not be traded but he took to Instagram on Wednesday and said, "Be told one thing & the outcome another. Can't trust em. Ain't no loyalty in this game. Sell you out quick for a little bit of nothing... Soon you'll understand... Don't disturb..."
Leonard reportedly had no desire to play in Toronto and has made it clear that he plans to sign for his hometown Los Angeles Lakers next summer in free agency.
