The Tennessee Titans have made Taylor Lewan the highest paid offensive lineman in NFL history with an extension reportedly worth up to $80million over five years.
Lewan had reported to the Titans' training camp earlier this week still waiting on a new deal, but the team announced his improved contract on Friday.
While a statement only confirmed that the Pro Bowl left tackle had been tied to a "multi-year" extension, multiple reports have the terms at $80m over five years, including a guaranteed $50m.
Those figures make the 27-year-old, who was entering the final season of his contract, the highest paid offensive lineman in league history.
The New York Giants' Nate Solder had himself signed a record-breaking deal earlier this year.
Lewan initially trained on his own upon his arrival at camp as he awaited confirmation of the extension.
