Michy Batshuayi joins Valencia on loan from Chelsea
An agreement between the Premier League club and their Liga counterpart was reached on Friday with the Belgium international signing a one-year deal.
Michy Batshuayi has agreed a one-year loan deal at Valencia, joining the Champions League participants from Chelsea.
Both clubs agreed the transfer on Friday morning with the Belgium international’s arrival being made official by Los Che a few hours later. The fee for the season-long loan is believed to be between three and four million euros.
Valencia’s intention is to include Batshuayi in the presentation of the 2018-19 squad on Saturday evening at Mestalla.
Valencia looking to add more attacking options in August
The sale of Martín Montoya to Brighton for 6.5 million euros allowed Valencia to push ahead with the deal and now it remains to be seen how many other attacking reinforcements arrive at Mestalla, with Marcelino targeting four before the window shuts on August 31.
Valencia have been constantly linked with a move for Atlético striker Kevin Gameiro, which is expected to take place before the deadline. The France international finds himself surplus to requirements at the Metropolitano following the arrival of Nikola Kalinic and the Mestalla board now have the ball firmly in their court as they seek either a loan arrangement or a permanent deal for the 31-year-old.
