Update:
Luis Enrique surprises by leaving Alba, Koke, Lucas and Aspas out of his first squad list

Luis Enrique announced his first squad list as Spain coach this afternoon - naming 24 players for his first two games in charge, against England and Croatia in the newly restructured UEFA Nations League.

The list includes 13 players who were at this summer's World Cup in Russia: De Gea, Kepa; Carvajal, Azpilicueta, Nacho, Ramos; Busquets, Saúl, Thiago; Isco, Asensio, Diego Costa and Rodrigo.

Absentees from Luis Enrique's list

Apart from the three players who recently retired from international football - Gerard Piqué, Andrés Iniesta and David Silva, seven players who have regularly appeared in the past have been omitted this time: Reina; Odriozola, Monreal, Jordi Alba; Koke, Lucas Vázquez and Iago Aspas.

There are 11 new faces in the list: Pau López, Albiol, Diego Llorente (who is injured but has been included for the experience), Iñigo Martínez, Marcos Alonso, Gayá, Sergi Roberto, Rodri, Ceballos, Morata and Suso.
