Ronaldo Nazário unveiled as Valladolid's new owner
The Brazilian ex-player becomes the club's maximum shareholder with a 51% stake as well as chairman of the Board of Directors. Carlos Suárez will remain club president.
Ronaldo Nazário is now the official owner of Real Valladolid. The Brazilian former player takes charge as maximum shareholder after securing a 51% controlling stake in club shares. He will also act as chairman of the Board of Directors. Carlos Suárez meanwhile will continue in his position as club president. Ronaldo's idea for the new project couldn't be clearer: "Our work will be founded on competitiveness, hard work and transparency with everyone contributing to the best of their abilities".
Ronaldo with high hopes for Valladolid
Ronaldo is convinced that this season will be a fruitful one for the Pucelanos: "We have confected the best team possible to compete in the top flight".
Fans with an important role to play
However, Ronaldo also had a few words for Valladolid's supporters for whom it won't be a straightforward adaptation process to the new changes taking place at the club: "We will be considering the social side in everything we do because we cannot forget about the fans. I want all of them to form part of this club and I invite everyone in the city to take part in this new project. The supporters need to form part of the present and the future of Real Valladolid".
The former player added that he will try to pass on some of his vast knowledge of the game to current members of the squad: "Valladolid is an incredible city with huge potential. I will be trying to lend everything I have learned about football to the players and be there for them when they need advice. I will try to run the club efficiently and successfully" he concluded.
