Eden Hazard rules out January Real Madrid move
The Belgian player was asked if he was planning to leave Chelsea in January and the question was answered with a blunt "no".
Eden Hazard appears to have little interest in leaving Stamford Bridge in January for a move to the Bernabeu. The Belgian player was speaking to the media ahead of the Nations League fixture against Switzerland and was asked by a Sky Sports reporter if there was a chance of the player leaving Chelsea in the winter transfer window. The rotund answer from the winger was "no", later clarifying that he had spoken already at length about his future but that there was "no chance of leaving London SW6 in January".
Real Madrid have made no secret of their plan to bring the Belgian to the Spanish capital and after the brush-off last summer have made his acquisition for summer 2019 a major priority. Recent results have seen alarm bells ringing at the club and there was talk that the move could be brought forward given the recent poor string of form. Hazard himself has made no secret of his desire to join "Los Blancos" and even in today's press conference reiterated his desire to play in Spain and win the Ballon d'Or.
Hazard's current deal with "The Blues" expires in 2020 and Chelsea will be keen to secure financial recompense for a player who would be a free agent come December 2019.
