Real Madrid: Marcelo trains, set to make Clásico in Barcelona
The left-back was able to join in training on Thursday, despite being forced off in Los Blancos' Champions League win over Viktoria Plzen.
Real Madrid left-back Marcelo is set to be fit for the Clásico against Barcelona on Sunday, despite limping out of Tuesday's 2-1 Champions League win over Viktoria Plzen with a leg injury.
Marcelo trains with group after resting on Wednesday
"It's only a heavy knock - nothing muscular," coach Julen Lopetegui had reassured reporters when asked about the issue post-match - and, having spent the following day resting, the Brazilian was able to train with the group on Thursday.
Marcelo, who has netted in each of Real's last two games - including the goal against Levante that ended Los Blancos' run of 481 minutes without scoring - has featured in no fewer than 27 Clásicos since moving to the Bernabéu in December 2006, winning seven, drawing seven and losing 14.
Carvajal out, Mariano misses training but should be OK
One man who won't be available this weekend is right-back Dani Carvajal, who is still recovering from a soleus injury picked up in early October.
Meanwhile, striker Mariano Díaz was unable to train alongside his Real team-mates on Thursday, but is expected to travel to Barcelona nonetheless
