Cristiano Ronaldo is taking no time at all to register historic figures with Juventus. The Portuguese forward was on target twice in the 1-2 win at Empoli at the weekend to take his overall tally to seven goals in 10 Serie A outings - a feat which no Juve player has achived since the great John Charles. Welsh striker Charles, who ended the 1957-8 season as the top scorer in the division with 28 goals also scored seven goals in his first 10 games.

Cristiano equals 'Il Gigante Buono'

Despite having a slow start, in which the ball wouldn't enter for him in his first three matches, Cristiano eventually got off the mark in the Week 4 meeting with Sassuolo, bagging a brace. His goal scoring run continued the following week against Frosinone and he hasn't stopped, scoring in the last three league games against Udinese, Genoa and Empoli. Curiously, for all of his efforts, Cristiano doesn't top the Serie A goal scoring charts - ahead of him is Genoa's Krzysztof Piątek who is on nine goals.

Better figures than Del Piero, Higuaín, Tévez, Ibra...

The record which Cristiano shares with John Charles is even more impressive when put into context in comparision with the other great forwards who have played for Juventus. Three Juve players hit six goals in the first 10 Serie A fixtures - Gonzalo Higuaín (2013-14, ending the season on 24), Carlos Tévez (2013-14, ending the season on 19) and Filippo Inzaghi (1997-8, ending the season on 18). Alessandro Del Piero, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Trezeguet managed to score five goals in the opening 10 league games, ending the campaign with Juventus on 21, 16 and 14 goals respectively.
