Incredible number of press accreditation requests for Superclásico
Over 1,600 press accreditation requests have been recieved for the first leg of the Superclásico but only 959 journalists can go from 191 outlets.
Boca Juniors have announced the number of press accreditation requests from around the world for the first leg of the Copa Libertadores final. 1,664 journalists have requested entry to the match as interest in the Superclásico has reached fever pitch.
For the first time in the competition's history, the two Argentinian giants will face each other after years of bitter rivalry and attention has been piqued from North and South America to Europe and the likes of Oman.
Due to the limited capacity, only 191 outlets will be accredited with 191 journalists getting the chance to watch the game between Xeneizes and Millionarios live. Boca have had to filter requests like never before for a game that will be watched around the world.
Having reached the semi-finals, interest was already turning towards Argentina given the possibility of the pair meeting. Boca beat Palmeiras and Boca turned over Gremio and with that, the world press tuned in with few exceptions.
