Palacios: "If Real Madrid sign him, they won't regret it" - River great
River Plate legend Beto Alonso has told AS that Real Madrid shouldn't have any doubts about snapping up 20-year-old midfielder Palacios.
Real Madrid shouldn't think twice about signing River Plate's Exequiel Palacios, the Argentinian club's legendary player Beto Alonso has told Diario AS.
Palacios heavily tipped for Real Madrid switch
Midfielder Palacios, 20, is being strongly linked with a move to Madrid, with the European champions even reported to have agreed a deal to take the twice-capped Argentina international to the Bernabéu next summer.
"He's a lad who's got so many good qualities"
"He's a lad who's got so many good qualities as a footballer," Alonso told an interview with AS ahead of River's Copa Libertadores final clash with arch rivals Boca Juniors. "If Real Madrid sign him, they won't regret it.
Focus first on beating Boca, Alonso tells Palacios
"[But] we shouldn't distract him from the task he's got ahead of him right now, which is the final against Boca; he's got to stay focused on that.
"Let's hope he has a really good final and can leave with a Copa Libertadores winners' medal around his neck."
