Casillas: more 18/19 clean sheets than Spain keepers, De Gea, Pau and Kepa

The FC Porto has kept seven clean sheets in ten starts for "Os Dragoes" and has let in less goals this season than the men selected by Luis Enrique.

Iker Casillas left Real Madrid back in the summer of 2015 moving neighbouring Portugal after signing for FC Porto with the Mostoles born stopper winning his first SuperLiga with the Porto giants last season.

The current 2018/19 campaign has also started brightly for the 37-year-old with the win over Braga coinciding with another clean sheet steering Porto to the top of Liga NOS where they hold a two point advantage of closest pursuers Sporting de Portugal. The victory at the weekend was significant too for the goalkeeper as it was his 50th shut-out in the Portuguese top flight and his seventh clean sheet in the ten games played in the current season to date with Porto only having shipped six goals all season.

Casillas ahead of De Gea, Pau López and Kepa

Recent performances have had observers calling for Casillas to get a recall for the Spanish national side. The keeper has yet to be involved in a squad for Spain since the arrival of Julen Lopetegui as manager in 2016 and the Porto player faces competition from the likes of "La Roja" regulars: De Gea, Kepa and Pau López. A claim from the Mostoles player for a recall from new boss Luis Enrique are his season statistics with Casillas conceding less than his three rivals despite the Portuguese league having played two games less than both Premier and LaLiga.

The United stopper has only registered one clean sheet this season having had to pick the ball out of the net 21 times. Kepa has kept six clean sheets for Chelsea but has been beaten eight times this season with Pau López holding five clean sheets but Betis have shipped 13 goals in the Laliga season so far.
