Barça mulling over 65M euro offer for Malcom from China
The Brazilian joined Barcelona from Girondins last summer for 40 million euros. The Catalans will study what to do with the offer, Malcom is happy at Camp Nou.
Barcelona have a succulent 65 million euros on the table for Malcom, AS understands from reliable sources. The offer has arrived from China and it is believed that several clubs have enquired about the Brazilian, who joined the blaugranas last summer from Girondins de Bordeaux for 40 million euros.
Malcom and his inner circle are keeping quiet about the offer. They don't want to talk about and would rather pass the issue on for Barça to deal with - although the club doesn't have a lot to say about it either. The player hasn't been a regular fixture in the line-up (he's totalled 296 minutes between the Liga, Copa and Champions League). The need to adapt to the team's style of play, the fierce competition for a place in the side and a few injury problems have slowed his progression during his first few months at Camp Nou. Valverde however, is very happy with him. He considers Malcom to be a different kind of player - one who is able to create spaces for the others but Malcom would like to be playing more often and in China, he would have the chance to do so.
Barcelona are fast becoming dab hands at negotiating with Chinese clubs. Over the next few weeks, the club will receive part of the 50 million euros for the sale of Paulinho Becerra to Guangzhou Evergrande. In that operation, Barça made a 10 million euro profit and if they decide to sell Malcom, they would recover the initial 40 million outlay and gain an extra 25 million.
