Real Madrid close to signing Mohamed Mizzian from Melilla

Barring any unexpected setbacks, the 18-year-old forward will join Real Madrid on a three-year deal and go into the Castilla squad.

Real Madrid are in talks with Segunda División B club UD Melilla over the signing of 18-year-old starlet Mohamed Mizzian, with the LaLiga giants set to snap up the forward, who is out of contract this summer, despite interest from Barcelona.

Mizzian to sign three-year deal and play for Castilla

An agreement is close to being reached, with Mizzian expected to arrive on a three-year contract in January, and go into the squad of the club's 'B' team, Castilla.

Impressed club chiefs in Copa clash at Bernabéu

Los Blancos have been tracking the youngster, who has already experienced playing at the Bernabéu, for a number of months. Mizzian started the second leg of Melilla's Copa del Rey last-32 tie with Madrid this month - and, although the minnows suffered a 6-1 defeat on the night, he impressed chiefs of the capital club's youth academy sufficiently to convince them to make their move.

Mizzian might have sealed his switch to Madrid sooner, had talks not been temporarily brought to a halt by the player's decision to change agents. However, the negotiations are now back in full swing and, barring any unforeseen setbacks, will see him join the European champions this winter.
