"We have made something difficult look easy. It seems like we're going to play a Champions League final every year but it's not like that. During the first few years I was here, we didn't come close." These were the words spoken by Sergio Ramos on 22 May 2018, four days before he went on to lift Real Madrid's thirteenth European Cup, and the fourth for him personally.

Real Madrid's title winning machine

The players of the current Madrid squad have an impressive array of honours with 236 titles spread out across them. This is made up of 24 leagues, 59 Champions Leagues, 69 Club World Cups, 13 Copas del Rey, 45 European Super Cups and 26 Spanish Super Cups.

On an individual basis, it's the two captains Ramos and Marcelo who lead the way in terms of medals collected. Both have already won 20 each for Los Blancos (four leagues, four Champions Leagues, four Club World Cups, two Copas del Rey, three European Super Cups and three Spanish Super Cups) and they have proved themselves to be vital cogs in the wheels of success over recent years, with 17 of them coming since 2010. Their most recent triumph in Abu Dhabi also took them above Camacho and Casillas, who each won 19 titles with Madrid. Only Paco Gento (23) and Sanchís (21) have more.

It's worth noting that the Club World Cup gave a Madrid debut title to Courtois, Odriozola, Vinicius, Reguilón and Valverde.

Barcelona and Atlético

As a comparison to their two biggest rivals in Spain, the 236 titles of Madrid's 24 players is only just greater than those of Barcelona, who have 230. Neighbours Atlético have 65 between them. Individually, Lionel Messi has the most medals with 33, while Busquets has 30 and Piqué 28. Atleti's Godín has collected eight.
