Marcelo Bielsa called a press conference on Wednesday in order to explain his side of the story regarding 'spy-gate'. The Leeds United manager was accused of and admitted to sending someone to spy on Derby County ahead of their clash last Friday night.

During the press conference, Bielsa came clean about his spying and said he watched all 51 of Derby's games from last season and says it is a lack of professionalism if you don't make the effort to learn everything you can about your opponents.

"This is not very useful. It doesn't put you in better conditions to win a game but the way to respect football is to make the effort to know the players in the team. I can't speak English but I can speak about the 24 teams of the Championship," he said.

Bielsa says "it is not illegal" and that he knows just because something is not illegal then it doesn't make it right but says he did not break the law. He says each game took four hours to analyse each game with over 300 hours of work put into scouting opposition.

On Tuesday, the EFL announced they had opened an investigation into Bielsa's tactics of spying on opponents.
