The Portuguese has been trying convince Marcelo to joing him at Juventus and the left-back might be having some doubts over recent role on the bench.
Cristiano has not given up trying to lure Marcelo to Juventus. Since the Portuguese landed in Turin last summer, one of his obsessions is to bring the 30-year-old left-back to the club. They maintain a great friendship and their communication is fluid, speaking regularly and during these chats Cristiano is making a big effort to convince the Brazilian to go to Juventus, As has learned.
At first, Marcelo did not consider it at all. Real Madrid's second captain renewed until 2022 in September 2017 and said at the time that "Madrid has been my second home and I would love to finish here." It was not the first time he has spoken of his desire to finish his career in Spain's capital.
Marcelo might be having doubts
However, recent events could put doubts in Marcelo's mind. Solari left him out of his starting eleven in the last two games without a single minute played after he was criticised for his defensive lapses. He was even called out by the home fans during Real Sociedad's win at the Bernabéu when he was nowhere to be seen for the first goal.
The Serie A side is well covered at left-back and they renewed Alex Sandro until 2023 in December. De Sciglio can also play there but they want a top-level player who can improve their squad depth even further.
An potential deal, however, would not be simple. Despite his poor performances this season, Marcelo remains an important player for Real Madrid. At the club they are not interested in sitting down and listening to offers and so the player himself would have to express a desire to leave.
