Chelsea need to act quickly to secure Zidane with Juve on standby
With Italian coach Maurizio Sarri's days numbered at Stamford Bridge the Premier League side need to swoop quickly to secure Zidane as future coach.
After a bright start to this role at Chelsea, time has shown that Italian coach Maurizio Sarri has been unable to address many of the problems at the London club experienced by previous incumbent Antonio Conte.
Erratic performances, tension in the dressing room and the SW6 based club current languishing in sixth place and out of a Champions League position in the league all point to a dismissal for the Italian on the Stamford Bridge bench. If Conte's bete noirs were Diego Costa and David Luiz, Sarri himself saw a remarkable show of petulance from Kepa Arrizabalaga last Sunday at the end of the Carabao Cup final when the Basque keeper refused to leave the field of play despite Sarri calling for him to leave. The former Napoli boss has also had moments of tension with the Chelsea supporters over his insistence to continually play Jorginho to the determent of fan favourite N'Golo Kanté.
As it would appear that time is running out for Sarri, the rumours of who potential replacements would be grow with speculation growing suggesting a return to the game for Zinedine Zidane. The Stamford Bridge outfit may appear to have stern competition in the form of Juventus with analysts in Italy suggestion that this will be the final season that Massimilliano Allegri oversees the Serie A side. Zidane remains a favourite amongst "bianconeri" fans after his successful spell with the Turin based outfit as a player in from 1996-2001.
