Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez unveiled the designs for the new Santiago Bernabéu stadium on Tuesday during a ceremony attended by Madrid Mayor Manuela Carmena.
Work on the new stadium is due to get underway at the end of the current season and will not be completed until at least 2023. The cost of the redevelopment comes in at 575 million euros, with Madrid taking out a loan that will take 30-35 years to repay.
Among the most striking features of the new Santiago Bernabéu is a retractable roof, which will take just 15 minutes to deploy.
