Bayern Munich have singled out Julen Lopetegui as a potential suitor should the German side decide to sack Croatian Nico Kovac at the end of the campaign. Despite the Bavarian side poised to win the 2018/19 Bundesliga title, Kovac has failed to impress the board of directors and club supporters during the campaign and even securing a league and DFB Pokal double may not be enough for the Croat top secure his future on the Bayern bench.

Rejuvenation

Bayern are currently undergoing a squad rejuvenation with the acquisition of the likes of Lucas Hernández, Pavard and Jann-Fiete Arp as long standing veterans Robben and Ribéry are poised for a departure from the club. Lopetegui has been singled out for his ability to work with promising talent and this is a problem that former managers, Guardiola, Ancelotti and Kovac have managed to achieve.
