Sarri not happy about friendly match in the United States
Chelsea's head coach expressed his discontent about having to travel across the Atlantic to play against the New England Revolution before the UEL final.
Chelsea earned their ticket for the Europa League final after beating Eintracht Frankfurt on penalties on Thursday night, and will face Arsenal FC at Baku on May 29th.
But 'The Blues' have a prior meeting in the United States, a friendly match against the New England Revolution to be played on May 15th in Massachusetts, and Maurizio Sarri is not happy about Chelsea having to travel to the States before the UEL final.
"We need to rest, to prepare the last challenge of the season. Unfortunately, we have to go to the United States, and after that, we will have ten days to prepare the final. It's a tight schedule, which I don't like, but there's nothing to do."
Chelsea lost against Manchester City in the Community Shield and were also defeated by Pep Guardiola's side in the EFL Cup final, so the only remaining title they're competing for is the Europe League.
Premier League dominance
Sarri also talked about the presence of four Premier League clubs in the finals of this season's major European tournaments, praising the competitiveness of English soccer.
"Here the level is high, very high, at this time the Premier League is the best championship in Europe and the world. The consistency showed by many clubs is to be proud of, as it's not easy to play 61 matches and keep competing with the same ferocity," concluded Chelsea's coach.
