LA Galaxy 0-2 New York City FC
LA Galaxy's poor run continues with first home defeat
Zlatan's Ibrahimovic team failed to win against New York City FC, and continue their losing streak. It was the Swede's second game without scoring.
LA Galaxy's thoughts were only on one thing ahead of this weekend's visit from New York City FC - to extend their dedent home record. But things didn't wuite go to plan for Barros Schelotto's boys, as the 'Pigeons' managed to dominate the game and curb LA's attack led by their captain, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Héber put New York City 1-0 up on half-time - tapping in a rebound after Anton Tinnerholm's shot had been blocked. Things got worse for the hosts moments later when Antuna handled in the box, and Maxi Moralez doubled New York's advantage.
Giancarlo Gonzalez made his first start for Galaxy, in a game where the loss of midfielder Jona dos Santos left the LA squad unable to create clear chances on goal. Visitors New York were able to ride out the pressure to record their fourth win in their last five games.
For Los Angeles, it was the team's third defeat in a row which leaves them five points off the lead in the Western Conference; as for Ibra, he has failed to find the net in the last two games - something he'll be attempting to put right in the next game - a week on Monday against bottom-placed Colorado Rapids.
